Editing an Application#

Your application record is a living document. Keep it updated to stay sharp during interviews.

Overview#

As you progress through a hiring process, you'll gather more information: interviewer names, salary ranges, and specific notes. Editing your application allows you to centralize all this vital intelligence.

Application Detail View Editing Mode

This area is reserved for a future UI screenshot.

Why it exists#

Information scattered across notebooks, emails, and sticky notes is useless when a recruiter calls you unexpectedly. Trackr gives you one place to edit and store everything related to a specific job.

How it works#

Clicking into any application opens the Detail View. From here, you can edit fields inline or open the full edit modal for structural changes like updating the job title or company name.

Step-by-step instructions#

  1. Navigate to your Applications list or board.
  2. Click on the card or row of the application you want to edit.
  3. To edit text fields (like Notes), simply click into the text area and start typing. Changes save automatically.
  4. To edit core details (Company, Title, URL), click the "Edit Details" button (pencil icon) in the top right.
  5. Make your changes in the modal.
  6. Click "Save Changes".

Tips#

Use Markdown in the Notes section to format your thoughts, create checklists for interview prep, or highlight important questions.

Best Practices#

  • Log contacts: Whenever you get a calendar invite, add the interviewers' names and LinkedIn profiles to the Contacts section of the application.
  • Update the salary expectation: If you discuss compensation, log the numbers immediately so you don't forget during negotiations.

FAQ#

Q: Is there a version history for my notes? A: Currently, we do not support version history for text fields. Be careful when deleting large blocks of text.
